₹1.15 Crore Approved for 23 Kambalas in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada

The Karnataka state government has earmarked ₹1.15 crore to modernise 23 Kambalas across Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts.

Kambalas—essential drainage drains that channel rainwater away from villages and towns—have long suffered from silt accumulation and structural weakness, leading to frequent blockages and flooding during the wet season. The funding is part of a broader initiative to upgrade the district’s water management infrastructure.

The infusion of funds will enable excavation, stone lining, and replacement of damaged culverts, ultimately reducing waterlogging and protecting surrounding agricultural lands.
