PETA India has reported that a calf was found dead during the seventh sweep of an animal hoarder’s house in Udupi, Karnataka, while rescuing seventeen other animals from the facility.
The unlicensed property, located in the outskirts of Udupi, has been under investigation since early last year. Earlier inspections uncovered severe mistreatment, lack of proper shelter, and inadequate veterinary care. Local authorities had already seized supplies and attempted to secure the premises following mounting evidence of abuse.
