26 Arrested in Perdoor Resort Gambling Raid, Rs 16.5 Lakh of Assets Seized

Police from the Udupi District Administration raided a resort in Perdoor on Thursday, detaining 26 people suspected of running an illegal gambling house. The operation confiscated assets including cash, jewellery and gaming equipment totalling Rs 16.5 lakh.
The raid followed a court‑bill issued by a magistrate, after intelligence reports indicated that the resort had been hosting clandestine bets involving large sums of money. Earlier this year, the state’s Directorate of Vigilance and Anti‑Corruption had intensified its crackdown on underground gaming networks across Karnataka.
Officials say the seized assets would be returned to the victims of the illegal bets, and the arrested individuals will face prosecution under the Uttar Pradesh Gaming Act.
