65,401 Children in Udupi District to Receive Polio Drops on June 28

On June 28, Udupi district health authorities will administer oral polio vaccine (OPV) drops to 65,401 children in the region, a figure that represents a sustained effort to keep the area polio‑free.
The immunisation drive, organised by the Karnataka State Immunisation Programme, targets children between 0 and 5 years old and extends to those who missed earlier rounds of polio vaccination. It follows a series of catch‑up campaigns that have successfully eliminated polio in the state for the past decade.
By vaccinating more than six lakh children in a single day, the district hopes to maintain herd immunity and prevent any resurgence of the disease.
