65,401 Children in Udupi to Receive Polio Shots on June 28

On 28 June 2024, Udupi district health officials will vaccinate 65,401 children up to five years of age with oral polio vaccine drops as part of the nationwide polio immunisation campaign.
The district, covering a mix of coastal towns and inland villages, has set up more than 70 vaccination posts in schools, community health centres and temporary booths, with teams of nurses and volunteers trained to administer the drops efficiently. The drive aligns with India's broader strategy to keep polio at zero incidence and to maintain herd immunity across all districts.
