65,401 Udupi Children Scheduled for Polio Vaccination on June 28

On June 28, the Udupi district health authorities will conduct a mass oral polio immunization drive involving 65,401 children aged below five years. The drive will be carried out across several blocks and panchayats, with vaccination teams visiting schools, Anganwadi centres and community halls.

The polio vaccination campaign is part of India’s National Immunization Schedule and follows the country’s strategy to achieve polio eradication. Health officials said the vaccines will be administered in a single round, and they have already secured ample supplies and trained healthcare workers for the operation.
