Accidental fire at shop in Adi Udupi market

At around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, a shop in Adi Udupi market caught fire, forcing shoppers to move to a safer distance.

The fire was declared accidental by the Udupi Fire Service, and is believed to have started in the store’s electrical wiring. Firefighters arrived within minutes and used water hoses and fire extinguishers to contain the flames before the shop’s rafters began to crumble.
