ANPR Cameras Reduce Traffic Violations in Udupi District, Police Spokesperson Reports

Police spokesperson Shyam K. S. has announced a significant drop in traffic violations following the implementation of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras in Udupi district.

The cameras, strategically placed at key junctions and highways, record vehicle number plates and flag offences such as speeding, illegal turns and running red lights. The technology has reportedly resulted in a 35 percent reduction in reported traffic infractions within the first six months of deployment.
