Bengaluru Tourist Dies After Being Swept by Udupi Waves

In the early hours of Tuesday, a tourist from Bengaluru was swept away by a sudden surge of waves off the coast of Udupi, according to local authorities.

The tourist, who was enjoying a beach excursion near Kallianpur, was pulled into the sea and later died after being rescued and taken to a hospital in the town.

Udupi’s coastal management officials have said that heavy surf conditions were present and that they are reviewing safety measures. Families of the victim are demanding an inquiry into the circumstances that led to the tragedy.
