BJP Plans Protest Over Udupi’s Exclusion From 2026-27 State Budget

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced it will stage a protest against Karnataka Chief Minister’s failure to include Udupi district in the 2026-27 state budget, arguing that the omission undermines the region’s development prospects.
In the state budget presentation, the government outlined allocations for various districts across Karnataka but omitted any specific funding earmarked for Udupi. Party leaders in Udupi contend that this neglect disregards the district’s infrastructure, education and healthcare needs, which have been highlighted by local leaders in prior years.
