Bomb Threat Email Causes Alert at Udupi District Court

On Thursday, court officials received an anonymous email warning of a bomb hidden in the Udupi District Court building. The threat triggered an immediate lockdown of the court premises and the deployment of security forces from the Karnataka State Police.
Police conducted a thorough sweep of the courtroom, offices, and support areas, meanwhile court staff were moved to a temporary location. No suspicious devices were discovered, and a preliminary investigation found the threat to be false. The court administration confirmed that the original proceedings would resume the next day as scheduled.
Authorities advised all visitors and staff to remain vigilant and to report any unusual activity. The Udupi District Court has urged the public to cooperate with law‑enforcement to curb any further attempts at intimidation.
