Bomb Threat Email Triggers Security Sweep at Udupi District Court

Authorities in Udupi District reacted to a bomb threat email received by the District Court on Monday, prompting an immediate security assessment of the building and surrounding area.
The warning, which allegedly warned of a potential explosive device, was intercepted by the court’s IT department on its network. Law Enforcement and the District Court Police Unit were notified and began a thorough sweep, inspecting all court premises and nearby streets for any suspicious packages.
As a result the court was closed for the rest of the day while investigators determined the authenticity of the threat. No injuries were reported and no device was found. The court is expected to resume normal operations once security clearance has been granted.
