Deworming tablets to be given to 7.8 lakh children in Udupi District

The Udupi District administration has launched a massive deworming programme, which will benefit 7.8 lakh children in the district. The programme, which was initiated by the district administration in collaboration with the health department, aims to provide deworming tablets to all children in the age group of 1-19 years.
The deworming tablets will be administered to children in schools, anganwadis, and other government institutions. The programme is expected to cover all 10 taluks in the district, including Udupi, Kundapura, Karkala, and others.
The deworming programme is expected to have a significant impact on the health and well-being of children in the district. According to health experts, deworming is essential to prevent anaemia, malnutrition, and other health problems among children.
