Dr Sharath K Rao Appointed Vice-Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education

Dr Sharath K Rao has been sworn in as the new Vice‑Chancellor of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), according to a release by the institution. He will take over from the retiring chancellor after a competitive selection process.
A seasoned academic and former professor of anatomy, Rao chaired the National Board of Examinations and led initiatives in surgical education. His previous appointments include serving as dean at the School of Medicine, Manipal and a visiting faculty role at AIIMS New Delhi.
The appointment is expected to reinforce MAHE’s standing as a leading medical research centre in Karnataka, with plans to expand collaborative programmes and clinical trials.
