Elderly Udupi Woman Files FIR After Son Assaults, Forces Property Transfer

In a distressing development, a senior citizen from Udupi lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against her son, claiming he physically assaulted her and compelled her to transfer her property to his name.
The 70‑year‑old, who owns a modest plot in the town, says that the confrontation began when she refused to comply with his demand to surrender her land. According to her statement, the son invaded her home at night, struck her on the abdomen, and threatened her family members, forcing her to sign a transfer deed under duress.
Following the filing of the FIR, the local police have taken the complaint into investigation, and a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The woman has also approached a lawyer for legal assistance to restore her property rights and seek compensation for the violence suffered.
