Elderly woman files complaint after son allegedly assaults her and coerces property transfer

A 73‑year‑old woman in Udupi has filed a criminal complaint against her son, alleging that he physically assaulted her and forced her to transfer ownership of a property located in Basavarajapuram. Police registered the case at the Udupi Sub‑Divisional Police Station on Wednesday.
The complaint states that the son threatened and struck the mother at her residence, then pressured her to sign a deed that would transfer the property, which is valued at approximately Rs. 15 lakhs, to his name. The allegation also claims that the mother was rendered unable to oppose the transfer due to fear and intimidation.
