Electricity Outage Hits Mangaluru and Udupi Districts on Aug 19

On Saturday, Aug 19, large parts of Mangaluru and Udupi district experienced a widespread power outage after a fault in the region’s transmission network.

According to The Hindu, the outage was triggered by a cable failure that caused a cascading shutdown of several distribution substations, prompting the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation to shut down lines to prevent further damage.
