Gaurav Gupta, a young entrepreneur from Manipal University, has carried his signature coastal Indian cuisine brand across borders, with new restaurant openings in Singapore and the UAE. The move comes after years of fine‑tuning his menu and service model, which blends traditional coastal dishes with contemporary culinary techniques.
After completing a degree in hospitality management at Manipal University, Gupta worked in several boutique restaurants in Udupi before launching his own pop‑up concept in Bangalore in 2018. The concept quickly gained traction among food enthusiasts for its authentic fish curries, coconut‑based gravies, and sustainable sourcing practices. Recognizing the growing global appetite for South Indian flavors, Gupta developed a scalable franchise model that preserves quality while adapting to local tastes.
The expansion has created dozens of jobs and positioned his brand as a cultural ambassador for Karnataka’s coastal cuisine. Customers report that the restaurants offer a “taste of home” combined with modern dining amenities, while local suppliers benefit from increased demand for regional produce.
