HCMCT Manipal Performs Simultaneous Heart Bypass and Robotic Lung Cancer Surgery

Doctors at HCMCT Manipal Hospital’s Dwarka campus carried out a life‑saving coronary artery bypass graft and a robotic lobectomy for lung cancer in a single surgical session, a first for the region.

The procedure, performed on a 61‑year‑old patient who had been waiting for two surgeries, combined traditional open heart techniques with minimally invasive robotics, enabling the multidisciplinary team to complete both operations in under five hours with minimal blood loss.
