Heavy Rain Expected in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi; Fishermen Cautioned

State Meteorological Department has issued a severe weather alert predicting heavy rainfall in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi for the next three days, potentially bringing up to 150 mm of rainfall every day.

The forecasts indicate a strong low‑pressure system over the Arabian Sea, with winds up to 35 km/h that could damage boats and fishing gear. Local authorities have urged fishermen to secure their vessels, secure nets and avoid docking in exposed areas.
