Heavy Rains and Strong Winds Damage 15 Houses in Udupi District

On Thursday night, intense rain and strong winds battered the Udupi district, triggering widespread damage across the region. Meteorological officials warned residents of heavy precipitation and gusts exceeding 80 km/h.

According to local authorities, a total of 15 houses across the coastal town of Byndoor and the inland village of Seeme suffered structural damage, with roofs torn off and windows shattered. Several families were temporarily relocated to community relief shelters while emergency teams canvassed affected areas.
