Heavy Rains Batter Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, Triggering Floods and Road Blockages

Over the last day, heavy monsoon showers have drenched parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, creating widespread flooding and blocking vital roads.

Record rainfall amounts, particularly in Karkala, Kundapura, and Bhatkal, have caused rivers to overflow, while steep terrain has led to landslides, temporarily shutting down highways such as the NH66 and NH744.
