Heavy rainfall over the past 48 hours has left Udupi district grappling with waterlogged roads, damaged houses, and disrupted transport services.

The monsoon season saw rainfall levels exceeding the district’s average, overwhelming local drainage systems and causing rivers to swell abruptly.

Numerous households reported roof and electrical damage, while key routes including NH 66 and local roads were closed due to flooding. Emergency crews are clearing debris and restoring connectivity as residents remain on alert for further weather changes.
