Heavy to very heavy rain forecast for Dakshina Kannada and Udupi for next four days

The Karnataka State Weather Department has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall expected to affect Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts over the next 48–72 hours, with peak showers anticipated on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The alert follows recent storm activity that has already produced localized flooding in coastal towns and raised river levels along the Sharavathi and Kundalathi streams. Authorities have advised local farmers to protect crops and residents to secure water‑filled containers.
Transport services may be disrupted due to road congestion, and school closures have been announced in several talukas. Residents are urged to stay updated via local radio and the Department’s official website.
