India Launches Someshwara Beach as Modern Coastal Hub in Byndoor

In a ceremony attended by local officials and tourism officials, the Indian government announced the official opening of Someshwara Beach in Byndoor, a coastal town of Udupi district.

The beach now boasts wide promenades, modern restrooms, solar‑powered lighting, lifeguard stations, and an automated safety monitoring system. A dedicated visitor information centre offers multilingual signage and digital kiosks, while eco‑friendly waste management systems have been installed to preserve the shoreline.

The upgrade is expected to attract an estimated 200,000 tourists annually, creating opportunities for local businesses and generating significant revenue for the district.
