Kasturba Hospital Rescues Man from Cardiac Arrest Using ECMO

A man in a life‑threatening cardiac arrest was successfully revived at Kasturba Hospital in Manipal on Tuesday, thanks to the use of an extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) machine.

According to hospital officials, the 38‑year‑old patient was brought in from a local clinic with severe arrhythmia and was immediately placed on ECMO support, allowing the heart and lungs to rest while receiving continuous oxygenated blood.
