Khader Reviews Udupi Hospitals, Announces ₹28 Crore Health Fund

Health Minister T.S. Madhusudhanan, better known as Khader, toured the state’s flagship hospitals in Udupi district last week. He pointed out shortcomings in infrastructure and patient care while endorsing a new financial boost for the region’s health services.

The visits included Kittur Rani Channamma Hospital in Udupi and the Taluk Hospital in Sirsi. Khader emphasised the need for modern equipment, better sanitation, and more trained staff to cater to the region’s growing population.

The minister confirmed an allocation of ₹28 crore to upgrade facilities, including procurement of advanced diagnostic machines, renovation of wards, and a staff training program.
