KMC Manipal Opens First Paediatric Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy Unit

On 29th June, KMC Manipal officially inaugurated a dedicated paediatric bone marrow transplant (BMT) and cellular therapy unit at its hospital complex, marking a milestone in Karnataka’s healthcare infrastructure.
The new facility, equipped with state‑of‑the‑art technology, will provide comprehensive services for children suffering from haematological disorders such as leukemia, thalassemia and aplastic anaemia. It follows years of planning and collaboration with national and international partners.
The unit is expected to reduce treatment wait times and improve survival rates for young patients across the Udupi district and beyond. It will also train local medical staff and foster research in cellular therapies. Source: Google News – Manipal.
