Light to Moderate Rainfall Hits Dakshina Kannada and Udupi

On Thursday, the western coastal district of Dakshina Kannada and the neighboring Udupi received light to moderate rainfall, contributing a significant portion of the region’s monthly precipitation.

The rains, which began in the early morning and lasted until late afternoon, came after a lull of several weeks of sparse showers, leaving farmers in both districts hopeful for better crop conditions.

Despite its relative softness, the rainfall has caused waterlogging in low-lying areas and brought traffic disruptions to rural roads.
