Lok Adalat Targets 4,400 Case Settlements in Udupi District

Officials in Udupi District announced a Lok Adalat concerted effort to settle 4,400 unresolved cases, a clear move to decongest the local court system.

Lok Adalats, often called people’s courts, provide a platform for parties to negotiate a mutual settlement outside the formal court setting. The initiative comes as Udupi’s judiciary faces a growing docket of disputes that have lingered for years, delaying justice and inflating legal costs.
