MAHE Names Dr Karunakar Kotegar as Pro Vice Chancellor of Technology & Science

In a move to strengthen its technology and science portfolio, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has tapped Dr. Karunakar A Kotegar as the new Pro Vice Chancellor for Technology & Science. The appointment was announced on May 16, 2024, following Dr. Kotegar’s stellar track record in engineering research.
Dr. Kotegar, who previously served as Deputy Director at the National Institute of Technology in Goa and led several high‑impact projects in renewable energy, brings a wealth of experience in both academia and industry. His research on sustainable power systems has earned him national recognition, and he has over 60 peer‑reviewed publications in leading journals. The appointment comes as MAHE seeks to expand its research infrastructure and enhance industry linkages across Karnataka.
With Dr. Kotegar at the helm, MAHE plans to accelerate collaborative research with local industries, launch new interdisciplinary programmes, and upgrade laboratory facilities in the Udupi district.
