Manipal Cafe Manager, Eight Others Booked Over Hookah Use, Probe Launched

A Manipal cafe manager and eight others have been booked for allegedly allowing hookah use on the premises, sparking a probe by the Udupi District Administration. The move comes after a complaint was lodged against the cafe, citing a breach of the Karnataka Prohibition of Smoking and of Health-Related and Other Activities Act, 2004.
The Udupi District Administration has taken the action as part of its efforts to enforce the smoking ban in public places, a move aimed at protecting public health and preventing the spread of diseases associated with tobacco consumption.
