Manipal Hospitals Revises IPO Valuation to $8.3 B

By ETF Desk

Manipal Hospitals, a leading healthcare chain headquartered in Bangalore, has announced that it will reduce its IPO valuation to $8.3 billion—a drop of about 12% from the earlier figure of $9.2 billion. The company said the revised valuation reflects a more conservative approach amid market volatility and aims to boost investor confidence as the listings move forward.

The valuation cut comes after the company’s board approved the IPO plan in February, with a targeted fundraising of up to $500 million. Earlier, analysts had expected the valuation to hover closer to $9 billion, based on the hospital group’s recent profitability and expanding network across Karnataka, including Udupi. Manipal Hospitals' CEO noted that the new price would provide greater affordability for retail investors and strengthen the company's debt‐to‑equity position ahead of the public float.

For investors in the Udupi district and broader Karnataka region, the lowered valuation could make shares more accessible and potentially improve liquidity once the stock begins trading. Market watchers anticipate that a more modest valuation will help the company avoid pricing headaches in the initial days of the offering. Source: Google News – Manipal.
