Manipal Hospitals, a leading private healthcare operator in South India, said it is preparing a $1 billion initial public offering in India, with the deal likely to take place in July.
The company, headquartered in Bangalore and established in 2011, has expanded its network across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh with over 20 hospitals and more than 1.5 million inpatient admissions annually. Bloomberg reports that the IPO would help fund further expansion into underserved regions.
The move could make Manipal Hospitals India's first publicly listed hospital chain, potentially boosting private healthcare investment in the state. Analysts note such an offering would also add competition to the sector, possibly improving quality and affordability. Source: Google News – Manipal.
