In a landmark move for Udupi’s healthcare landscape, Manipal Hospitals has confirmed its intention to acquire the Sahyadri Hospitals network for a staggering ₹6,300 crore. The strategic acquisition marks a significant expansion of Manipal’s presence in Karnataka’s western districts, particularly in Udupi, where the Sahyadri group has played a prominent role since its inception.

Manipal Hospitals, known for its flagship campus in Manipal and a robust network of specialty centers across India, has long sought to broaden its reach into underserved regions. Sahyadri Hospitals, with several facilities across Udupi, Kundapura and surrounding towns, has been a trusted name for local patients, offering a range of services from diagnostics to advanced surgeries. The two entities had previously collaborated on joint educational and research initiatives, laying the groundwork for a seamless merger.
