Moderate rain in Dakshina Kannada, ample rainfall in Udupi district

Recent weather data indicates that Dakshina Kannada experienced moderate rainfall throughout the week, with a high of 70mm in some parts of the region. In contrast, Udupi district received good rainfall across the majority of its taluks, with several villages benefiting from a 90mm spread in the coastal plains.
The weather pattern followed a slow-moving low-pressure system that brought moist monsoon air from the Arabian Sea. Meteorologists note that the shift from moderate to good rainfall across Udupi helped maintain soil moisture levels, crucial for crops such as arecanut and coconut.
Despite the beneficial rains, some pockets in Dakshina Kannada faced waterlogging, prompting advisories from local authorities to monitor low-lying areas.
