NPR Cameras Help Udupi Police Reduce Traffic Violations

In a bid to curb road misuse, Udupi Police Commissioner Dr. R. Kannan unveiled the new NPR (Networked Patrol Recording) camera system on Thursday, claiming immediate results in enforcing traffic rules.
The high‑definition cameras, deployed at critical intersections and stretches of NH66, record speed, seat‑belt use and lane‑keeping. Integrated with real‑time analytics, the system sends instant alerts to traffic officers, enabling timely interventions at hotspots such as Gokarna Road and Kumarakonda Bridge.
