Police raid Udupi homestay, seize cannabis crop

In a morning operation, Udupi police raided a homestay in the district and confiscated a large quantity of cannabis. The raid, carried out by the local drug enforcement unit, resulted in the seizure of a haul of marijuana plants and related paraphernalia.
Witnesses reported that the homestay, located on the outskirts of Udupi town, had been suspected of illegally growing the drug for distribution. The investigation, prompted by anonymous tips, led officers to the site where they found over a meter of vines and multiple bags of dried marijuana, ready for shipment.
