School Bus Nearly Hits Divider After Loss of Control in Manipal – Incident Averted

A school bus traveling on the Manipal–Pappadamar border lost the ability to steer and slammed against a metal divider. Immediate response from the traffic police prevented the bus from colliding with the divider and potentially injuring passengers.
The incident is believed to have been caused by sudden brake failure, requiring the driver to take extra turns on the narrow road. Residents reported that the bus had been on the Etawah Expressway's 4th lane when the driver applied panic brakes and wiggled across traffic lanes.
As per hospital staff and police statements, no injuries were reported. The bus was moved to a safe spot and an investigation is underway. Authorities say that additional safety scans of school transport vehicles will be instituted in the district.
