On 18th July 2026, the silver market in Udupi saw a modest rise, with bullion prices stabilizing around Rs. 55,200 per kilogram at the central market of the district.
The upward swing follows an earlier dip the day before, as global silver demand increased due to renewed industrial activity and investors seeking safe‑haven assets. Local traders noted that the rise was also supported by brisk sales at the Udupi Gold & Silver Exchange, where merchants actively bought and sold bulk lots, pushing prices up slightly.
For local merchants and consumers, the higher silver price translates to an increased cost for jewelry makers and higher production costs for engineered items. Conversely, importers of silver bullion may benefit from more competitive resale margins in the regional market. Source: Google News – Udupi.
