Speed Radar Cameras Inaugurated at Six Udupi Highways

In a move to curb speeding and reduce road accidents, 48 speed‑radar cameras have been commissioned across six major highways in Udupi District. The cameras were launched earlier this week by the Karnataka Traffic Police at points including NH‑66 near Udupi town, NH‑73 at Kallianpur, and the coast road at Karkala.
Officials said the installation is part of a broader plan to enforce speed limits and improve traffic compliance across the state. Each camera is linked to the state’s traffic digitiser system, which instantly flags violations and sends tickets to the registered owners’ toll‑free number.
