Speed Radar Cameras Now Active on Six Udupi Highway Spots

Six speed radar cameras have been installed and activated at strategic points along Udupi’s major highways, including stretches of NH66 and the coastal road. The cameras, which detect vehicles exceeding the speed limit, are part of a broader initiative to curb speeding and reduce accidents.

The locations—at the Udupi-Belthangadi junction, the Udupi-Banka bridge, the Srikanth road to Karkala, the Hosapete segment, the Hunsur corridor and the Agumbe sunrise exit—were chosen after traffic studies indicated high speed-related incidents. The Department of Road Safety will monitor the cameras and issue penalties automatically.
