Speed Radar Cameras Now Operational at Six Udupi Highway Points

Speed radar cameras have been installed and are now operational at six major highway points in Udupi district, marking a significant upgrade in the region’s traffic enforcement measures.
The cameras were deployed on NH 275 and the Punsi–Udupi corridor, targeting key stretches where speeding incidents have historically been high. The installation was carried out by the Karnataka State Police’s Traffic Unit, using a mix of fixed and mobile radar devices that record speed, location, and direction of vehicles.
By providing real‑time speed monitoring, authorities expect the new system to deter speeding, reduce road‑related accidents and ensure smoother traffic flow.
