SSLC Exams Kick Off in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi, 43,000 Students Take Exam

SSLC exams commenced on Monday across schools in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, with a total of 43,047 students registered to sit for the test in two districts. The statewide board marked the start of the exam period, which runs through December 8, 2024.
The University of Mysore’s Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Committee has overseen the scheduling of the exams, ensuring all 27 schools in Udupi and 64 schools in Dakshina Kannada have adequate resources and seating arrangements. The exams are considered the last of the year's academic assessments, determining student placements into higher secondary education.
The high number of candidates highlights the importance of the SSLC in Karnataka’s education system, as a majority of students will rely on these results to secure routes into technical, professional and vocational courses. The exams have also prompted local authorities to bolster security and medical support at testing locations, acknowledging the stress and expectations faced by the students.
