Storm devastates Udupi district: heavy rains and winds damage homes and crops

A sudden downpour and gale‑force winds battered Udupi district on Monday, unleashing heavy rains that poured over 100 mm across the region within hours.

Villages such as Pavoorupura, Keri and Abekar recorded roof damage, uprooted trees and flooded fields, particularly affecting coconut, paddy and groundnut crops.
