Surathkal Fishing Boat Capsizes; Six Fishermen Rescued by Coast Guard

A fishing vessel carrying six crew members capsized off the Surathkal coast near Mangalore early Tuesday, prompting a rapid response from local authorities and coast guard ships.
The small craft was caught in a sudden squall that climbed the coastline, causing the boat to tilt and dump its ballast bags. Witnesses report that the waves surged unexpectedly, and within minutes the vessel had rolled over, freeing the crew from their nets and gear.
Fire and Coast Guard units from the Mangalore Marine Base reached the site within ten minutes, spotting the men clinging to a folding raft.
