Tata Sierra EV Debuts Udupi with On‑Road Price ₹21.26 Lakh

On 12 July 2026, Tata Motors introduced the new Sierra EV in Udupi, Karnataka, offering it at an on‑road price of ₹21.26 lakh, inclusive of taxes and levies. The compact SUV, which runs on a 45‑kWh battery, aims to compete with other electric pickups and SUVs in the Indian market.
The Sierra EV is built on Tata’s e‑Platform 3.0 and follows the success of earlier models like the Nexon EV. With an official range of 260 km under the Indian Driving Cycle, it is tailored for the dense urban and semi‑urban traffic conditions that dominate Udupi’s roads.
The launch is expected to accelerate EV adoption in the district, reduce diesel consumption, and cut carbon emissions by up to 1,200 kg per vehicle per year. It could also catalyse the growth of charging infrastructure and create local jobs. Source: Google News – Udupi.
