Temasek-backed Manipal Hospitals has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for a $1 billion initial public offering, making it the largest healthcare IPO in India this year.
The company, operating three premier hospitals in Udupi and other cities, aims to raise capital for network expansion, technology upgrades and debt restructuring. “This IPO will unlock additional growth avenues and enhance our service capabilities,” said the group’s CEO during a press briefing.
Analysts predict that the announcement will boost investor confidence in India’s healthcare sector and could set a benchmark for future healthcare listings. The listing is expected to be in the next few months, pending SEBI clearance. Source: Google News – Manipal.
