Three Youths Arrested in Udupi Over ₹4,711 Diesel Theft

Udupi, Karnataka – The local police have booked three youths after they stole diesel worth ₹4,711 from a village fuel pump and sold it without payment.
According to officials, the incident occurred at the Koraput village petrol pump on Thursday when the men siphoned diesel onto vehicle tanks and then sold it to a nearby shopkeeper for cash, leaving the pump owner unpaid. The theft was discovered when the pump owner noticed a discrepancy in the fuel balance and cross‑checked the transaction records.
The case, though involving a relatively small amount, underscores the persistent issue of fuel theft in rural Karnataka and has prompted authorities to review security measures at local pumping stations.
