Udupi: 146 Villages Face Potential Drinking Water Shortage

The county’s health department has issued a warning that 146 villages in Udupi district could soon face shortages of drinking water, according to a report by Mangalore Today.

Officials say the warning follows a review of water supply infrastructure across the district, where aging pipelines and declining rainfall have weakened the reliability of municipal water systems. Emergency water tanks and supply trucks have been stationed in key villages to mitigate the risk.
